$125,000–$150,000 base salary, negotiable.
The Opportunity
Our client, a growing moving and storage company, is hiring a fleet director to oversee its truck and equipment fleet for the Austin market. You will be accountable for safety, compliance, maintenance, utilization and cost of the fleet.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the fleet maintenance program, vendors and repair budget.
- Ensure DOT, FMCSA and state compliance, including inspections and driver qualification files.
- Plan fleet capacity and utilization with operations and dispatch.
- Lead drivers, fleet supervisors and mechanics.
- Reduce downtime, accidents and operating cost.
What You Bring
- Experience managing a commercial truck fleet, ideally in moving, logistics or distribution.
- Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Maintenance and equipment budgeting experience.
- Leadership and coaching of drivers and technicians.
- Familiarity with fleet and telematics systems.
